808's & What Kanye Said

If everyone who gets their heart broken gets it like Kanye West,
im probably gonna start singing and making bad music soon
Maybe i'll be like Lupe though, and put up my Intruder Alert.
If only you had payed attention to the sirens,
we could have caught him
but no, he caught you
He took you away
He slipped in - in the sneakiest of ways - in the middle of the night.
while i slept
and you wept
i wish i could get you back, but im sitting behind this wall of glass
watching you, with him - but my hands are tied behind my back.

He walked in when he noticed you were weak and i was tired.
he scooped you up, and didnt give you a chance to react
all awhile, i was still asleep.

but now im awake, and its too late.
too late like one republic.

there's no way to compete with the thief
because he's the one filling in the gaps that i was just too stupid to look at
he'll sing to you
cuz i never did it
he'll dance around with you in a lily field
cuz i never did that either

but remember, he still an intruder.

now that you're gone, i can't sleep anymore.
i can't close my eyes.
i find myself staring at the glass - with you two on the other side.

Fvck what you think, with all do respect.

Why is it that you change the way you do things, the way you say things, and the way you act in order to make other people happy?

people leave their personality behind; lock  that shit up in the closet and, like an old faded t-shirt, never wear it again. and if they do, they wear it as an undergarment, with the new "fresh" mindset on top so everyone can see it. it's scary how if for some reason you grow some nuts and take that freshness off, and show that old faded t-shirt again, people will stare at you with perplexed eyes wondering what the fuck drove you to do that. they will examine it; every wrinkle, and every faded line. and in an act of bold hypocrisy, they will criticize you.

mind you, they all have the same t-shirt somewhere at home.

I've noticed that the smallest disturbance can set the social bomb to tick-tick. And that the first tick leads to a second, third, fourth, and then, eventually a boom. the sad thing is that the boom isn't singular, it's followed by other consecutive explosions - and like an unbreakable chain, it follows your trail. leaving irreparable marks wherever you step.

We spend our whole lives getting good at the trade - bomb technicians we are.
but what we don't get is that after you do something for so long, you start becoming more and more like it. and so, your own inner tick starts.
you begin to self-destruct the minute you try to become like everyone else, the moment you lose your sense of self, and become the common.
Why are we so scared of breaking lose from social conformity?

why are we scared to become uncommon?

why are we scared of being creative?

The creative is the place where no one else has ever been. You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover is yourself.
don't forget that shit. be yourself.

for those who aren't fresh:

you're still cool in my book - if that serves as any consolation.
nowadays, if you don't dress like the s t a r s do, you become social toast.
i think it's all a hunk of shit. A bunch of companies using perceived obsolescence to guide our youth to throwing their money away.

whoever said paying $400 for a pair of jeans you will only wear once every three months was "fresh", deserves a (wakethefuckuptoreality) slap to the face.
that money could be put to better use:
a savings account; college is pretty fucking expensive.
taking your girlfriend out to the movies.
-buying her flowers.
taking your mother out to dinner.
-buying her flowers.
going out with your boys.
-buying them flowers; if that's what you guys are into - we don't judge.
[four hundred dollars worth of alcohol can go a long, long way]
or, you can just buy a whole fucking bunch of other clothes.

don't you think matching everything you wear is a bit tedious? the "having to wake up extra early because you want everyone at school to see how 'pretty' you look", doesn't bother you at all?

what ever happened to being a man and not caring about whatthefuck people say?
to throwing on the first thing you could find in the morning to go to school?
to teen mutant ninja turtles shirts and mighty morphing power rangers undies?

I miss it, i miss it a lot.
the chuck taylor days, before dunks arrived.
when levis where the only thing that covered your crotch area
and LRG wasn't even around.

when lil' wayne, who is now a coke-head, wasn't weezy yet, and people listened to real music.

i wished all OFK's(Official Fresh Kids), who will end up being RFU's(Real Fuck Ups) otherwise, decide that one day, they want to be a FCG(Fresh College Graduates).

get a fucking education.
